TWO Preston junior football clubs will face off to raise vital funds and awareness for youth homelessness.

Teams in each of the clubs’ eight age groups will play matches at Preston’s HP Zwar Park in the charity event, supported by hockingstuart Preston.
Kids Under Cover national marketing and fundraising manager Aimee Suchard-Lowe said the second annual cup would raise much-needed funds for the charity’s work.
“It also helps to raise awareness, not just of Kids Under Cover, but actually hopefully making the local community just have a moment to think about the issue of youth homelessness,” Ms Suchard-Lowe said. “The fact that hockingstuart is able to not only raise funds, but bring it to the attention of people … that is an incredible contribution.”
The main fundraiser for the day will be sausage sizzles held at both grounds — provided by hockingstuart Preston — which last year raised about $800.
Joe Ledda, hockingstuart Preston director, hoped to hit the $1000 milestone with this year’s cup, which he said was a good day of footy for a good cause.
“It’s a nice little family day for the local residents, who all obviously have kids in different age groups that play for these particular clubs,” Mr Ledda said.
“It gives them a good opportunity to get together, have a series of different games where it’s a bit competitive and a bit of fun, and there’s a prize at the end.”
Matches will be staged from 8:45am-5pm on Sunday, March 31 at H.P Zwar Park, Jessie Street in Preston.
