Last year the Preston Bullants JFC Committee developed a multi-year Strategic Plan for the Club. One of the key items identified as part of the strategic review, was the need to bring a tangible element to deliver on some of the Club’s core values, most notably:
Becoming responsible teenagers/young adults and being accountable for one’s actions are life lessons that need to be learned to become positive role models and valued members of our community. Some of the challenges our kids may face as they age include drugs in society, depression (which has no bias to age), binge drinking and respect for women.
The Committee is pleased to engage the services of Sport & Life Training (SALT) to deliver 4 workshops in June and July, targeting players aged 13+, and club leaders from all player groups (Coaches, Team Managers, Committee).
On 28 June, the club’s leaders (Committee, Coaches, Team Managers etc) will participate in two workshops. The workshops will address:
In July, our under 14s, under 15s and Colts players will participate in two workshops, addressing:
SALT’s presenters are all highly trained, experienced educators who impart their knowledge and initiate discussion in a safe, inclusive environment.
The PBJFC Committee views the program as a critical component of ensuring club success. We are hopeful that the beneficial aspects of engaging with SALT will be significant and that this will be the commencement of a structured program of cultural and personal development for all members that come through the club over the ensuing years.
